Alarm bells went off on Wednesday afternoon when a fire broke out in the Sa Talia area of Sant Antoni. According to the Conselleria d'Agricultura, Pesca i Medi Natural, the fire started at 16:44 and has been categorised as potential severity level 0.
A team of six firefighters was sent to the scene to extinguish the fire with a Heavy Rural Pump (BRP) and a Nodriza. The light aircraft and the helicopter had to be mobilised to extinguish the fire.
It was not until 18.45 hours that the fire was considered extinguished. The local police of Sant Antoni closed the traffic in this street during the fire for the safety of the citizens.
Fortunately, no residents had to be evacuated.
