Once again, fireworks brought the celebrations for Sant Bartomeu Day to a close. Hundreds of people gathered in Portmany Bay to watch the display, which was launched from Sa Punta des Molí. The 20-minute show delighted those who waited until midnight to see it.
Prior to the fireworks display, and following the mass in honour of Sant Bartomeu, local singer Irene Ponce and the group Lemot performed on s'Arenal beach, providing the evening's musical accompaniment.
Many families from across Ibiza take the opportunity on Sant Bartomeu Day to visit Sant Antoni, dine at one of its restaurants and enjoy the spectacular fireworks display.
However, the Sant Bartomeu festival programme continues until the first week of September. Another highlight is the battle between the Carthaginians and Romans on S'Arenal beach, complete with a tomato fight. This year, it will be held on Saturday September 6th.
