Atmospheric instability has marked the beginning of the season in the Pitiusas. A new DANA will leave accumulated rainfall of up to 20mm in Ibiza and Formentera this Tuesday.
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) advances cloudy intervals with probability of some isolated rain that may be accompanied by storm, rising during the afternoon or night to very cloudy with showers and locally strong storms that could be accompanied by hail and gusts of wind that will put Ibiza and Formentera on yellow alert from 18.00 hours on Tuesday until five in the morning of this wednesday. Night temperatures will rise slightly and daytime temperatures will drop slightly between 17ºC and 28ºC with generally weak southwest wind.
As reported by the delegate of Aemet Baleares, María José Guerrero, to Europa Press, the DANA currently in the Peninsula will be moving so that this Tuesday the Islands «will be under its ray of action». Thus, it is expected in part of Mallorca and the Pitiusas heavy rains, storms and hail and is expected a decrease in temperatures that will range between 26 and 29 degrees maximum.
On Wednesday the DANA will move practically over the Balearic Islands and rainfall will intensify. Thus, the Aemet has decreed the orange alert in Mallorca and Menorca, and the yellow in the Pitiusas, for the heavy rains and hailstones that can occur until noon. Starting in the afternoon, some isolated showers are expected. Temperatures will drop to 24 and 27 degrees maximum.
From Thursday, skies with few clouds and rising temperatures are expected but, however, some isolated showers could fall, especially in the southeast of Mallorca and Ibiza. No precipitation is expected over the weekend and temperatures are expected to rise even higher.
