A boat, named 'Sophia', crashed this Saturday night against s'Espalmador, in the heart of the Ses Salines Natural Park of Ibiza and Formentera. At around 10:30 p.m., the boat 'H20' informed Salvamento Marítimo that a boat had run aground in this area. By protocol, Maritime Rescue asked if they had a second, smaller boat to be able to get closer to the coast, but they gave them a negative answer.
Given this, in a sweep of nearby vessels, Salvamento Marítimo found the 'Zenit' ship, which did have a smaller one to be able to approach the area. While Salvamento contacted this vessel, they sent the Salvamar Acrux, a fast access vessel, as well as the 'Helimer 221' helicopter, which was later withdrawn when the skipper of the 'Zenit' reported that the crew of the 'Sophia' were in good health.
At around 11:45 p.m., an auxiliary from Salvamar Acrux arrived on the coast and asked those affected if they needed any type of help, but they answered no. The boat, as can be seen in the image, has been left with its bow in the air after climbing onto a rocky area. The removal of this will be done with a private company that the crew of 'Sophia' has contacted.
