The renowned German luxury fashion brand Jil Sander has opened a new boutique in the recently opened Ibiza Gallery shopping complex in Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza. This opening forms part of the German brand's international expansion strategy, with the company now betting on a tourist destination with significant growth potential and an increasing number of luxury brands.
Conceived as an exclusive space for the premium segment, Ibiza Gallery is emerging as a new benchmark for high-end retail on the island. Jil Sander's presence is joined by other prestigious brands, including the Spanish label Sarda, which has also recently announced its arrival at the site. These brands' presence consolidates the area as a new focal point for luxury shopping tourism, which is becoming increasingly popular on the island.
The Jil Sander boutique stands out for a design that takes inspiration from traditional Ibizan estates, fusing contemporary aesthetics with local materials. The shop incorporates natural elements such as raffia wallpaper, handcrafted by local producers using raw materials from the island. This artisanal and sustainable approach connects with the essence of the local landscape and culture, while reinforcing the brand's minimalist identity. The shop's interior combines resin surfaces with clean lines and an understated design, consistent with Jil Sander's signature style.
The spring-summer 2025 collection, photographed by Mario Sorrenti in Vancouver, is available to view in this new location. While this collection was directed by Lucie and Luke Meier, Simone Bellotti will take over as creative director from spring 2025. Having enjoyed a distinguished career in the industry, including roles at renowned brands such as Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Dolce & Gabbana, and most recently, Bally, Bellotti is taking over at a pivotal moment for the brand.
Jil Sander's arrival in Ibiza forms part of a wider strategy to establish the brand in high-end tourist destinations. Jil Sander currently has around 70 boutiques and is present in over 300 selected department stores worldwide. The new store on the Balearic island joins other key holiday destinations, such as St Moritz, where the brand recently opened a similar space in a luxury ski resort.
