The Can Purtell estate celebrated its fifth anniversary with an event focused on the recovery of local varieties of cereals in Ibiza, entitled «Restaura el gra». The initiative took place at Can Cristòfol and brought together farmers, bakers, seed experts and historians to share experiences and knowledge about traditional crops and their current uses.

Can Purtell's founder, Jessica Dunlop, organised the meeting. She has spent the last five years working to recover abandoned fields and produce organic flour. Jessica explained that the event was an opportunity to share what had been learned and connect the community involved in the process «from seed to table».

The meeting was attended by a number of people involved in this sector. Among those present were Vicent «Palermet» Marí, traditional farmer and local historian; Ioana and Ángel, from the Pantastik bakery; Martin Davies and Christel, from Pan D'Or, and Francisco Negrín, from the Can Cristòfol cooperative. The short film ‘Festival of the sun’, by Enrique Villalonga, was also screened and presented by Joanna Hruby and Ben Dunwell.
