The speed camera on the EI-600 road, which connects Ibiza with Sant Antoni, is the sixth in Spain with the most fines, with a total of 39,202 over the course of 2024, nearly 6,000 less than the previous year.
This is the only speed camera in the Balearic Islands that appears among the 50 in Spain that imposed the most fines last year, according to a study by Automovilistas Europeos Asociados (AEA).
This document states that the archipelago's radars processed over 89,500 complaints in 2024, which is a 4.9% decrease compared to 2023.
The speed camera that issued the most fines in the Balearic Islands was located at kilometre 16 of the Ma-13, which connects Palma with Alcúdia, issuing almost 7,100 fines. This was followed by the radar at kilometre 8 of the EI-200, which connects Ibiza with the municipality of Santa Eulàlia, issuing more than 5,000 fines, and the radar at kilometre 6 of the Ma-5120, which connects the municipalities of Campos and Felanitx, issuing almost 3,600 fines.
In Spain, penalties increase by 4%
During the past year, the DGT issued 3,440,655 speeding fines, representing a 4% increase on the previous year (3,305,978).
The association analysed the sanctioning activity carried out at each of the speed control points located on Spanish roads using data from the DGT.
According to the AEA report, Andalusia continues to lead the ranking of autonomous communities with the most active speed cameras, having received 959,592 complaints — representing 27.8% of the total number of complaints made in Spain. This is followed by Castile and León with 413,343 complaints (12%), the Valencian Community with 366,360 complaints (10.6%), and Castile-La Mancha with 310,795 complaints (9%).
