It was just after seven in the evening, and the heat was still intense, but that didn't stop a crowd from filling the main street of Cala Llonga to enjoy the traditional parade of floats. Accompanied by the music of the sonadors, as a prelude to what was to come, a dozen floats made a short journey from the small Capella d'Assumpció to the town centre, which they travelled through twice.

There they were greeted by the attentive gaze of both the locals who had come to enjoy the parish's big day and the tourists who, amazed, joined in the celebration, surprised by this display of popular folklore in such a touristy place.

But the attention grew even more when the procession stopped and the balladors and sonadors began to get off their carts. It was just after 7:30 p.m. when, after a few moments of preparation and a few brief bars to immortalise the moment, some twenty members of the Colla de l'Horta de Jesús began to play their instruments around the local fountain.

The crowd grew to enjoy the show. To the rhythm of the best ball pagès, Cala Llonga enjoyed one of the last celebrations of its big day and its popular festivities.

On this occasion, unlike what is usually the case, the traditional mass was not held before this folkloric demonstration, but in the morning. A celebration that, as could not be otherwise, was in honour of the Virgin of the Assumption, and was accompanied by the music of the Coro Rociero de Santa Eulària choir.

The day ended with music, which took over at 8 p.m. with José Javier El Mariachi, the group Around & Around, and the band Esta me la sé closed the day.
