Marc Serra (Sant Josep, 2006) is a young guitarist who began his musical adventure on the island when he was just a child. He is one of three winners worldwide of the scholarship awarded by the Latin Grammys through the popular Gibson brand.

The young man began his career in music on the island. From a very young age, he attended academies, where he was trained by guitarists Alfredo Souza and Marc Riera.

However, as Serra himself explains, it was with the help of Norberto Rodríguez, a Cuban guitarist living on the island, that he fully developed his passion for the guitar.

At just 14 years old, he began giving concerts on the island, determined that the world of music would be his future. To pursue this vocation, he decided to take the entrance exams for Berklee College of Music, the world's largest conservatory, in the city of Boston. He has now been studying there for a year.

He decided to apply for the Latin Grammy scholarship at that very moment, and ended up being one of three winners worldwide.

Sponsored by the Gibson guitar brand, he received a €12,500 scholarship and an instrument from this popular brand. Commenting on this recognition, the young musician said that it was 'a tremendous help and an honour for both me and my family'.
