The heat caused by the orange alert in Ibiza and Formentera has left no one indifferent. High temperatures have hit the entire Balearic Islands, reaching a maximum of 36.5ºC with an anomaly of 6.5ºC.

Even so, the thermometers have not stayed at that figure. In Sant Joan this Saturday, the temperature reached 40.5 ºC. This figure comes on the hottest day recorded this year, according to the AEMET, although they report that this Sunday ‘could be even hotter’.

It should be noted that the Pitiusas Islands remained on orange alert until Tuesday. On Sunday, maximum temperatures ranged between 34 and 41 degrees in Ibiza, while in Formentera where between 33 and 37 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the maximum fire risk warning remained in effect, so it was prohibited to light any type of fire in forest areas.
