On Tuesday, the Civil Guard launched a search operation after locating a motorcycle belonging to Thomas Grumer, an Italian resident who disappeared in June, in a remote area of the municipality of Santa Eulàlia del Rio, as reported to the EFE news agency by the armed forces' communications department.
Officers located the missing man's vehicle, belonging to the 42-year-old Italian who was last seen on 16 June after finishing his shift at a hotel in Es Canar. His relatives reported him missing at the time, and according to the police, there has been no further information about his whereabouts until now.
The Civil Guard helicopter took part in the search operation, conducting searches between 12:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., as did the Special Underwater Activities Group (GEAS) and the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (GREIM).
The Ibiza Fire Department also contributed to the search, deploying a drone once the helicopter had left. Emergency and security services are continuing to search for the missing person.
