The managers of Sunset Ashram, located in Platges de Comte, explained on Wednesday that their sound system was sealed off in mid-August because it exceeded the permitted limit by ‘about three decibels’. They insisted that this was in no way due to an illegal party, as had been claimed.
Recently, the Sant Josep Town Council confirmed that it would continue to seal off the equipment of those establishments that do not comply with the regulations. At Sunset Ashram, this sealing took place weeks after the end of the music at the Sa Trinxa beach bar in Ses Salines last July.
Those responsible for the Cala Comte venue explained on Wednesday that, six days later, the equipment was unsealed and normality returned to the well-known establishment. They also assured that, at the time of the sound measurements, the decibels had probably increased due to the high volume of customers talking and enjoying their stay at the venue.
At the same time, they highlighted the ‘good relationship’ with the local police, who carried out ‘a very proper operation,’ they also indicated.
