The Irish driver arrested for the fatal hit-and-run in Es Puetó was remanded in custody without bail on Monday after appearing before the acting judge at Ibiza Magistrates' Court No. 1.
The man, who allegedly committed the offence after consuming nitrous oxide, was arrested on Sunday and charged with drug-driving, manslaughter due to gross negligence, and grievous bodily harm.
Meanwhile, Nuestra Señora del Rosario Polyclinic explained yesterday that the young woman admitted after being hit on Sunday remains in a critical condition in the centre's ICU. The 23-year-old British national is recovering from multiple injuries, including blunt abdominal trauma with injuries to her spleen and kidney, as well as severe pelvic trauma.
It should be noted that another of the women injured in the incident was discharged from Can Misses Hospital on Sunday, while one of the women hit by the car died in hospital.
