Josep and Carmen were eagerly looking forward to retiring in Ibiza after putting down €150,000 for the purchase of a townhouse in a residential development located in Punta Pedrera. What the Catalan couple, who made the payment in the midst of the pandemic, did not know at the time was that five years later, those €150,000 would have disappeared and that ‘their house’ would be back on the market.
As reported by IB3 Notícies, the sales agent was endorsed by Solvia, the real estate agency linked to Sabadell that was marketing this development, which made Josep and Carmen trust the transaction.
‘They sold us something that was very well priced: €250,000,’ she explains.
The couple knows that Solvia received the payments via bank transfers, but then they stopped receiving replies and the intermediary disappeared. Today, the company has completely disassociated itself from those transactions and the townhouses are back on the market ‘for over a million euros,’ explains Josep.
Now, the couple and three other affected parties have handed the case over to a lawyer with the sole intention of recovering their money.
