The Irish driver arrested for the fatal hit-and-run in Es Puetó was remanded in custody without bail on Monday after appearing before the acting judge at Ibiza Magistrates' Court No. 1.

The man, who allegedly committed the offence after consuming nitrous oxide, was arrested on Sunday and charged with drug-driving, manslaughter due to gross negligence, and grievous bodily harm.

Meanwhile, the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Polyclinic explained this week that the young woman admitted after being hit by a car on Sunday has been transferred to a hospital ward after staying in the ICU. The woman, a 23-year-old British national, is recovering from multiple injuries, including blunt abdominal trauma with spleen and kidney injuries and severe pelvic trauma.

It should be noted that another of the young women who was taken to Can Misses Hospital was discharged on Sunday, while one of the women who was hit by the car died in hospital.
