When boarding a plane, many passengers expect a smooth journey to their destination. However, this is not always the case. During a Lauda Europe flight from Vienna to Ibiza many passengers had to endure the antics of several tourists travelling to the island, who decided to start their holiday early by starting a party on the plane.
«They were all standing up and having a good time. I didn't notice at first because I had my headphones on with noise-cancelling mode activated, but when I went to the bathroom, I realised,» told an Ibizan passenger to Periódico de Ibiza y Formentera. According to the young woman, before they started their own party, they tried to get her attention. However, when they realised that she wasn't listening to them and was 'doing her own thing', they stopped trying.
«They had a loudspeaker on and were drinking alcohol. Apparently, they had bought bottles of alcohol at Duty Free and were pouring it into soft drink bottles while toasting», says the passenger, who points out that «nobody said anything to them» and that one of the stewardesses was «fed up» because the tourists were getting up during the descent. The worker tried to make them stay seated once they landed, but the young woman explains that ‘they laughed at her and she didn't know what to do’.
The party continued and the passenger says that the group threw things on the floor, even after they left, as well as throwing one of the bags onto the pedestrian crossing where the bus usually picks up passengers to take them to the terminal. At that moment, the young woman says she asked them to pick up what they had thrown, but they looked at her as if she were crazy, passed her by, and she had to pick up the bag herself so as not to leave it there. «It's a shame,» she regrets.
The Ibizan woman also claims that, inside the terminal, they continued to mess around with the loudspeaker when they saw the signs for the nightclubs.
