On Wednesday morning, Sant Joan de Labritja Town Council announced the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings against those responsible for a series of illegal constructions on a property in the Benirràs area. These proceedings were initiated following a communication from SEPRONA, who had detected several allegedly irregular buildings on a plot of land classified as Common Rustic Land and Risk Prevention Area.
Following this communication, municipal technical services conducted an on-site inspection and issued a report recommending the initiation of proceedings for urban planning infringements. Structures such as yurts, wooden houses, outdoor kitchens and other outbuildings were found on the estate without a permit.
Subsequently, 'the sanctioning file was processed and the interested parties were given the opportunity to make representations', said the Town Hall, which added that 'these were partially accepted and the voluntary restoration of the altered physical reality was urged'.
The initial penalty was 119,000 euros, 'although this amount has been subject to various reductions in accordance with the provisions of the Balearic Islands Town Planning Law,' the council explained. Specifically, the voluntary reinstatement allowed for a 60% reduction, leaving the penalty at approximately 47,600 euros. The voluntary payment in advance period then resulted in a further reduction of 40%, meaning that the final amount paid was 28,560 euros.
