September 19th and 20th will be full of flavour in the Pitiusas calendar with the celebration of the third edition of the Ibiza and Formentera Gastro Fair, which will feature local products from the Pitiusas Islands. This well-established event will be held from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on both days, alongside the 18th Ibiza Beer Fair, and will bring together the main producers and chefs from the islands with the aim of promoting their raw materials and raising awareness of them both within and outside the archipelago.
New this year, the Ibiza and Formentera Gastro Fair will feature a large Sabors d’Eivissa stand where the Consell d’Eivissa, through Ibiza Travel, will give space to the Cooperativas Agroeivissa, Ecofeixes and Cooperativa Ramadera d’Eivissa, who will be selling high-quality, flavourful local products.
Leading restaurants such as Ca n’Alfredo, La Cava, Tierra de Ibiza, Trattoria del Mar, Bistró del Mar and Can Mario will also be participating in both days, with their own stands alongside Jamones Los Andaluces and Salewski Artesanos. The food trucks from Ficus Food Lab, Camàlic and Sa Trugeta will also be showcasing their culinary offerings. Another new feature of this third edition will be the participation of two dessert companies, Heladería 97-12º and Can Rei, who will add a sweet touch to this eagerly awaited encounter with the gastronomy of the islands. The Central Bar, presented by Spherium Group, will be the epicentre of the event’s liquid experience. Attendees will be able to enjoy classic cocktails, prepared by mixology experts, accompanied by a live Flair Show, as well as zero-kilometre products from the island, such as liqueurs and spirits from Familia Marí Mayans. In addition, Spherium Group will feature renowned wineries, such as Ramón Bilbao and Marqués del Atrio, which will complement the bar’s gourmet offerings.
All participating establishments will offer dishes featuring local produce as the main ingredient, allowing attendees to sample meat, fish and vegetarian dishes from the Pitiusas. These will include some of the area’s most emblematic products, such as sobrasada, Ibizan red potatoes, squid and Ibizan black pork. These ingredients will be used to create a variety of dishes, including porc negre burgers, cocas, tostas de sofrit pagès, squid stuffed with sobrasada, empanadas and cocarrois. Desserts will include ice cream made with Ibizan lemons, oranges or strawberries, as well as traditional sweets such as orelletes, flaó and bunyols.
Saturday September 19th
The major culinary event in Ibiza and Formentera, presented as an ode to the gastronomy of the Pitiusas, begins on Friday at 7 pm with the official opening led by actor David Pomar and a performance by Sa Colla de Sa Bodega. This will be followed by a roundtable discussion with local producers, including the president of the AgroEivissa agricultural cooperative, Ivan Colomar; the technician from the Ramadera Carn & Coop cooperative, Esidro Ramis; and the head of the Ibiza Fishermen’s Guild, Antonio Torres Costa. They will discuss local produce and its potential in both traditional and modern cuisine. Renowned chefs such as Óscar Molina from La Gaia, Catalina Riera and Nuria Riera from Ca n’Alfredo, and Estela Armada from Tierra de Ibiza will also join the discussion. The discussion will also feature María José Amengual, a member of the Ibiza Academy of Gastronomy. It will be presented by Montse Monsalve, journalist and CEO of Imam Comunicación.
Afterwards, Bodegas Can Rich, with its technical director Álvaro Pérez Navazo, and Sabors d’Eivissa, led by Marga Orell, will present a pairing of Ibizan wines—white, rosé, red, and sparkling—from this iconic winery with a variety of savoury and sweet culinary offerings. This event will highlight the quality of both the wines from the Ibiza/Eivissa Protected Geographical Indication and the local products that will shine in four recipes. Salted potatoes with three sauces will be paired with Can Rich Blanc 2024 wine, Porc Negre sobrasada rolls will be paired with Can Rich Rosat D’Amfora 2024, Xeixa wheat coca with peppers and marinated fish will be combined with Can Rich Blanc D’Amfora 2024 and, finally, carob, fig and almond cake will be an excellent pairing with Can Rich Brut Blanc de Blancs.
The first day of the 3rd Ibiza and Formentera Gastro Fair and the 18th edition of the Ibiza Beer Fair will feature performances by DJ Javi Box and DJ Sr. Cardona.
