The Civil Guard is searching for the crew of a boat that was found in Ibiza with more than 500 kilos of cocaine after the occupants fled, even attempting to ram a Civil Guard patrol boat.
According to a statement issued by the Armed Forces, on Saturday morning a patrol observed a boat in the Porroig area from land that aroused the officers’ suspicions, so they notified the Civil Guard Maritime Service.
Once informed, they headed to the location and the patrol continued sailing parallel to the coast until reaching the Torre des Carregador area.
The alleged traffickers, upon seeing the Maritime Service vessel, headed for the beach, abandoning the boat in a hurry, but not before attempting to ram the patrol boat.
Once the boat had been inspected, 21 bales containing cocaine were found inside one of the cabins. The Civil Guard is conducting an investigation to locate and arrest the people who were travelling inside the boat.
